For U.S. Residents:
If you are going to receive stock shares and/or if you earn more than $600 in bonuses (not rebates) in a calendar year we are required to have your Social Security Number in order to provide you and the government with appropriate documentation for tax purposes.
iConsumer issues 1099's when you earn more than $600 in bonuses and/or stock. Cash and stock rebates do NOT count towards the $600.
This is not our policy but the law.
For non U.S. Residents:
We may require identification to confirm you are you. If you earn $3,000 a year or more in bonuses (stock and/or Cash/Bitcoin), then we may request additional ID from you. We may require you to provide us a statement declaring that you are a non-resident.
